This 1990 Beneteau 45f5 is a performance cruiser with a winning pedigree. A former champion on the Pacific Northwest race circuit, she’s fast, well-built, and handles beautifully under sail. Designed by Bruce Farr with styling by Pininfarina, she combines performance, technology, aesthetics, and comfort in a way that stands the test of time. While she could use a little cosmetic TLC to shine like new, this is a great opportunity to own a great boat while adding your own touches. She offers superior boat speed as well as cruising comfort.
Whether you’re looking to cruise, club race, or both, this 45f5 is an opportunity waiting for you to shine her up again.
She has been on the hard in Panama, stored in a secured yard for a couple of years, and waits for her new caretakers to make her sparkle.

Octopedes has a desirable master suite forward with an en-suite head and sail locker, a large salon and a linear galley, and aft are the port and starboard guest cabins with a custom navigation station to port and a guest head to starboard.
Her striking interior, finished in cherry wood paneling with white leather upholstery for contrast and with overhead and side lighting from multiple opening hatches and port lights, creates a bright and spacious feel. This boat offers spacious accommodations in three double cabins and two separate heads. The salon and cockpit are large and can fit a crew.
This is one of those boats whose fiberglass was hand laid, and you can see the quality and care she had with her owners.
The forepeak contains a sail locker with anchor chain storage in the forward part followed by a watertight bulkhead and provides access to the forward head.
The boat has a forward head with access to the sail locker through the bulkhead, including a shower, and an aft head with a manual toilet, floor drain, and cabinetry.
Her linear galley occupies the port side of the salon. It features a large freezer and separate refrigerator and offers ample counter space and storage.
She is a fractionally rigged sloop with the headsail on a roller furling system. All lines are led to the cockpit via line clutches, and she has an electric halyard winch as well as self-tailing primary and secondary winches. She needs a new mainsail.
Improvements from 2009 to 2018 include custom instrument pods above the companionway and at the helm and a custom radar and antenna mast. A new aluminum Sparcraft tall mast with standing and running rigging was installed in 2009, and a new aluminum toerail was installed in 2014. The keel was removed and rebedded with two-part zinc chromate P/S 870 Class C corrosion inhibitive sealant in 2009; the keel box and all structural liner were properly tabbed to the hull with epoxy or vinyl ester resin, and high load areas of the deck were reinforced. Custom rudder bearings with grease zerks were installed to provide excellent feel while sailing.
Foam mattresses with new canvas covers were replaced in 2009, the bottom was faired and epoxy coated in 2012, and a custom navigation station/room below was added.
